Entrepreneurs Can List Their VentureBombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is inviting young entrepreneurs to come on to its new platform, the BSE Startup Platform to provide further incentive to entrepreneurs and companies which are ‘startups’ in industries like hi-tech defence, drones, biotechnology, IT, ITeS, 3D printing, space technology, nanotechnologies, e-gaming, exoskeleton, life sciences, artificial intelligence, and big data.

This development comes as a boost and vote of confidence for startups in India. The new platform will go live on July 9 2018 where entrepreneurs can list their venture with or without an initial public offering (IPO). It’s a great step towards bringing liquidity to early stage investments and easier access to capital.

Asia’s oldest bourse, Bombay Stock Exchange announce that the BSE Startup Platform has been enabled in the BSE SME Segment. The Startup platform will bring better transparency in terms of corporate governance, valuation etc and help expose these ventures to different forms of capital.

This is encouraging step of BSE for startups seeking access to capital and looking to scale up.

The Bombay Stock Exchange has listed out the following criteria for the listing:

  • The pre-issue paid-up equity share Capital should be minimum of Rs 1 crore.
  • The company should have positive net worth.
  • There should be no winding up petition against the company.
  • The startup should at least three years old.
