B D Arts College in LAL Darwaja  is a co-educational Arts  Colleges in Ahmedabad. The educational institute was founded by the donation of Sakarlal Balabhai Charitable Trust in the year 1956, inaugurated by Shri Morarjibhai Desai, the Chief Minister of Bombay Province. B. D. Arts College is a self financed institute affiliated to Gujarat University. It offers master of arts course in various streams.The premier woman’s college is located in the heart of the walled city. The college came under the protective wings of Gujarat Law Society. It was the first college in Gujarat University who offered Home Science as the Entire subject in the three year degree course. The college conducted Classical Instruments and Vocal Music classes for 15 years and the college had its own orchestra. The mission of the institute is to address the present day needs of the marginalized poor girl students. The college offers Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in Sanskrit, Puran and Vedant. The college also offers Ph.D in Sanskrit.
