About The Directorate General Of Foreign Trade Organisation – DGFT
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is India’s official administrating body for imports and exports. DGFT is the agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India.
Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) provides a set of framework and guidelines for exporters and importers wanting to trade in India and also responsible for administering laws regarding foreign investment and foreign trade in India. DGFT provides a complete database of all importers and exporters of India. DGFT IEC stands for Importer Exporter Code issued by DGFT.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade provide facilitation to exporters in regard to developments in international trade, i.e. Rules of Origin, WTO agreements, anti-dumping issues, etc. to help exporters in their import and export decisions in an internationally dynamic environment. DGFT formerly known as the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports (CCI&E)
